Welcome to
the Rising Sun, Bream, in the heart of the Forest of Dean,
Gloucestershire. The pub stands at the top of the High Street
opposite the war memorial. The pub was first recorder as an inn
in 1787 and the earliest part of the building dates from 1729.
Since that time the pub has been extended. It has been the
meeting place for a Friendly Society and is now the meeting
place of the local Probus club.

For a short period
during the 1990's it was completely gutted, extended and became
the Village Inn. The pub was kept by various members of the
Morse family until it became an Arnold Perrett pub before being
taken over by the Cheltenham Original Brewery in 1937. The
Rising Sun is now a free house. It has
twice been named as the 'Forest of Dean Pub of the year' by the
Forest branch of CAMRA.

three or four real ales (locally sourced within 100 miles) as well as a comprehensive selection of
other drinks It has a restaurant and offers five
B & B rooms
and also a garden for those summer days. Car parking is
available as is secure cycle storage for the more enthusiastic. |
